During September and October Nautilus officials attended this year's Labour, Conservative and SNP Party Conferences. The Union met with MPs and MSPs to discuss key issues such as our Fair Ferries strategy, and the need for political support for a just and people-centred transition in the pursuit of decarbonisation.

Nautilus also argued that investing in maritime skills and education is critical to 'levelling up' or 'rebuilding' our coastal communities, so that people within these communities can fully benefit from the growth of sectors like offshore wind.

'These messages received positive responses from those we met,' said Nautilus communications and campaigns organiser Robert Murtagh. 'Nautilus will build on these relationships to further our aims and continue to influence those in positions of power on behalf of our members.'
