Cadet members are being invited to take part in a new Nautilus survey to provide an updated insight into the issues affecting Merchant Navy trainees.

The Union has launched the online survey to get feedback on key elements of cadets' experiences, and to build on similar research undertaken in 2004 and 2010.

The confidential questionnaire – which can be accessed through the Nautilus website – covers such issues as pay, career prospects, accommodation, and quality of training.

'We hope all cadet members will take part so we can get a fresh perspective on the needs of those who represent the future of our industry,' said strategic organiser Martyn Gray.

All responses to the survey will be kept anonymous – however, one lucky member (who provides contact information) in the survey will be randomly selected to win a £25 gift voucher.
