It's very sad to hear that the UK government has again waived the visa requirements for offshore wind workers. I know the Union back in November wanted the government to end the visa waiver, but again the UK government only seems to be hurting the UK's offshore wind workers.
Why does this keep happening? It's keeping the day rate low because they can keep cheaper labour and also trip lengths are kept longer. Also this is a massive safety issue because many if not all these workers have failed the English test.

The editor responds: We now have an update that the UK government has extended the Offshore Wind Workers Concession for a further three months from July 2022, rather than for another full year, and Nautilus continues to lobby for a final end to the waiver in October.
