Nautilus shortlisted for two Mersey Maritime Awards

21 September 2022

Nautilus International has been announced as a finalist in two categories at the Mersey Maritime Industry Awards 2022.

The Union is shortlisted for the Global Performance Award, which is awarded to a business or organisation which has made an exceptional contribution to the development of global shipping, logistics or international trade. Nautilus's entry covers its efforts to support members during the pandemic, successful lobbying on the Borders Bill, work on Warlike Operations Areas, and legal victory in the Rotterdam lashings case.

It is also in the running for the Regional Deal of the Year Award, which goes to an organisation that has agreed the most significant deal for the North West's maritime industry within the past year. The entry focuses on redevelopment work in Mariners' Park and the £10m redevelopment of Gibson House.

The awards were created by Mersey Maritime, a non-profit regional cluster organisation in the Liverpool City Region and North West with more than 200 active members including ports, shipping companies and professional services firms. They were conceived as a way to reward excellence in one of the Liverpool area's key industries.

The winners are selected via an industry voting platform, which opens in October, and will be announced on 10 November at an awards ceremony to take place at Liverpool Cathedral.

In 2021, Nautilus was shortlisted for the Maritime 2050 Award.
