In Liverpool, we are holding the 80th Commemoration of the Battle of the Atlantic over the late bank holiday in May 2023.
During some of the events we would like to show some short video clips or interviews of veterans who were involved in the battle.
It can be difficult to find these people and there are not many of them left, but we know they are still out there in the Merchant Navy community, especially as there are some seafarers who started their careers very young during the Second World War.
If you are a Battle of the Atlantic veteran who would like to take part in the interviews or a family member who can help, please email p.brown387@ntlworld.com with contact details and I will be in touch.

Britain's WW2 government acknowledged Merchant Navy sacrifice
As you will know, this year marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day. I enclose a copy of a transmission, sent by telegraphy in May 1945, from the Admiralty to 'all ships', expressing the victory message to the Merchant Navy, from the minister of war transport.
