Marine Superintendent
Excellent package – Location: Northeast Lincolnshire

Associated Petroleum Terminals (Immingham) Limited, jointly owned by PRAX LOR UK Limited and Phillips 66 Ltd, has an opportunity for an experienced Master Mariner

We are a busy and successful company, controlling ship to shore unloading/loading facilities for petroleum products on behalf of our Shareholder’s local oil refineries, through nine berths across three jetties.

The successful applicant will head the Marine Department, consisting of eight full-time Berthing Masters, who follow a shift system, as we operate our terminal 365 days a year, 24 hours per day.  They will also be responsible for the conduct of the Marine Services contract. The Marine Services contractor provides 53 marine personnel employed for jetty standby duties, mooring and unmooring operations.

The Marine Superintendent is part of APT’s senior management team, reporting directly to the terminal manager.  As such will play a key part in maintaining safety standards across the company. Liaise with outside organisations, such as the local port authority, MCA, agents, towage companies and other stakeholders on the Humber.  The role also involves ensuring the suitability of vessels visiting the berths, effective ship/shore interface meetings and incident investigation.  This will include liaising with APT’s shareholders vetting departments.  A good working knowledge of the OCIMF’s MTMSA programme would also be a benefit.

Ideally the successful candidate should hold a Master Unlimited (Class 1 Master Mariner) or Master with limits + Harbour Master Qualification.  Have a good understanding of the Humber and of tanker terminal operations.  All candidates must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

On offer is an excellent salary plus bonus scheme, defined contribution pension, employment retention scheme and healthcare scheme.  Relocation may also be available.

Potential candidates are encouraged to contact APT for an informal discussion on the roles of the Marine Superintendent.

If you feel you have the experience, knowledge, and qualities that we require for the above role please send your CV together with a covering letter stating why you are applying for the Marine Superintendent role to:
