Nautilus Rewards and Nautilus Protect: your new member benefits

19 May 2026

Nautilus International is pleased to announce new benefits for members in the UK branch. Rob Coston speaks to Chelsea Reilly from UIB about what is now available, plus upcoming offers on insurance

Rob Coston (RC): Can you tell us a bit about UIB and what you do?

Chelsea Reilly (CR): We've been working with trade unions since 1999, providing membership benefits to more than 2.5 million people. We work exclusively with unions, and we're very committed to that. We're proud to have strong links to the union movement ourselves, and we're recognised for our commitment to staff development and engagement.

Our aim is to add value to union membership through affordable products, shopping discounts and special offers, while also helping unions with recruitment and retention.

RC: Nautilus members will soon start receiving emails about two new offers: Nautilus Rewards and Nautilus Protect. Let's begin with Nautilus Rewards, which is now available – what is it?

CR: Nautilus rewards is a member benefit scheme designed to help people get more for their money. We partner with hundreds of trusted retailers and service providers to offer exclusive discounts that aren't available elsewhere. Thanks to the collective buying power of union members, we can secure significant savings on everyday spending. That includes things like gym memberships, cinema tickets, breakdown cover, travel extras, supermarket shopping, utilities, days out and restaurants.

RC: Are there particular benefits that might appeal to maritime professionals?

CR: Absolutely. The platform offers something for a broad range of lifestyles, so I'd encourage members to explore it fully. It's easy to navigate, with categories to help you find relevant offers quickly. We're also always looking to improve, so member feedback is really important to us. We actively use it to refine and expand what's available.

Rob: Will the offers stay the same, or do they change over time?

CR: They're constantly evolving. We’re always adding new deals and improving the platform to help members maximise their savings. There are also regular competitions with prizes to be won. Members will receive updates on the latest offers via email, so it's worth keeping an eye on your inbox.

RC: Let's move on to Nautilus Protect. While we've previously offered deals and discounts, this is something different for Nautilus. What can members expect?

CR: Nautilus Protect provides access to insurance products designed to offer financial security and peace of mind. These include personal protection policies such as life insurance and accident cover, as well as general insurance like travel insurance and home and car comparison services. All policies are designed to be clear, affordable and accessible, with customer support available to guide members through the process.

RC: One feature that stands out is the free £5,000 accidental death cover. How does that work?

CR: This is one of our most popular benefits. It's available to UK-based members aged 18 to 69 and can also extend to their families. The cover lasts for 12 months and can be renewed annually at no cost. However, it's important to note that members do need to register for it. Once you sign up online, a member of our team will call to confirm your details, set up the policy and send out the documentation. It’s a quick and straightforward process.

RC: So it's not automatic – you do need to sign up?

CR: That's right. Membership makes you eligible and it is completely free, but you must complete the registration to activate the cover.

RC: Finally, when will these services be available?

CR: Nautilus Rewards is now live, [members can log in to My Nautilus to find out more] and start exploring straightaway. Nautilus Protect, the insurance products and free accidental death cover, will follow in early summer due to regulatory requirements. We'll keep Nautilus members informed as soon as everything is ready.
