Nautilus International members employed by Heyn Engineering serving onboard the RV Corystes have voted overwhelmingly to accept a revised pay and conditions offer for 2025.
The agreement includes:
- a 3% general pay award, backdated to 1 April 2025
- the introduction of Pension Salary Exchange on a voluntary basis
- additional benefits for members choosing salary exchange, either as a 0.75% employer pension contribution or a 0.75% cash supplement (subject to tax and NI deductions)
Members also reviewed updates to the Seafarer Employment Agreement, which will be issued following the conclusion of this year's pay review.
Nautilus head of industrial Micky Smyth welcomed the outcome, commenting: 'This deal secures a fair uplift in pay while giving members greater flexibility around pensions. It demonstrates the importance of strong membership density in ensuring positive results at the negotiating table.'
Nautilus has now written to the employer, requesting that the revised pay and pension arrangements be implemented without delay. The Union will begin preparations for the next pay and conditions review in February 2026.
