Advice

Our Welfare team is available to assist retired seafarers in finding the right benefits and services. We are able to point people in the right direction and refer them to the correct agencies in order to find out what help and support they may be entitled to.

State benefits are a good place to start but retired seafarers may qualify for assistance from a nautical charity and our team can put people in touch with a range of seafarers’ welfare organisations, as well as Nautilus’ own support services.

Our team can also help people by giving them an idea of what to expect from organisations like social services and benefits agencies.

Currently, with the support of funding from the Maritime Charities Funding Group and other maritime charities, we have a caseworker who is on hand to give more detailed general advice and support, and a health advisor, who is tasked with promoting better health amongst retired seafarers.

For more information on general welfare advice please contact our Wallasey office and request to speak to a member of the Welfare team.
