Serving seafarers
Members have access to legal and industrial advice, and may be eligible for emergency financial support through various funds.
Employed seafarers who have to stop working on a temporary basis because of illness, and do not have sick pay or have exceeded their allowance, are not eligible to receive cover by the Nautilus Welfare Fund, under the terms and conditions of donors.
We do however encourage such individuals to contact us regardless, as we may be able to refer you elsewhere.
Retired seafarers
If you or your partner have a record of service as a seafarer, you may be eligible for support from the Nautilus Welfare Fund.
A registered charity administered by Nautilus International, the fund offers an extensive range of specialist welfare services for retired seafarers and their dependants. The organisation has a welfare home on the banks of the River Mersey in Wallasey, UK – which provides independent housing and domiciliary care. In addition, the park has a 32-bed registered care home for those needing nursing and respite care.
We offer support for retired seafarers and their dependants. We can also advise members on applying for other benefits. Contact us for more information.
